A female driver has died and her passenger has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after two cars collided on the Murray Valley Highway near Hogans Road this morning.
Wangaratta Highway Patrol officers are investigating the devastating fatal collision that is understood to have occurred when two vehicles collided about 11.20am with a female driver of one of the vehicles sadly passing away at the scene.
Her male passenger was taken to hospital with life-threatening
The female driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
The Murray Valley Highway was closed in both directions between Keenans Road and Botts Road for several hours but has since been re-opened.
