The renovation commenced this month and is expected to be finished early in 2023. On completion it will create a spacious new beer garden that will hold up to 375 patrons.
The Terminus will be completed by architect Burton & Carter with plans to maintain the look and feel of the origins of the building, featuring a mix of covered and uncovered areas, high and low-level seating, leafy green surrounds and exposed beams.
In a historical nod to the existing space, which was originally known as the ‘stables’, the expansive new Beer Garden will fittingly be named ‘The Stables at Terminus’ and will include an expansive seating area with protection from the weather, container bar, pergola, mega screen TV for sports lovers, and a large playground to keep kids busy.
Australian Venue Co last year entered into an agreement to purchase the business from a group of individuals that have strong connections from Yarrawonga.
Speaking on behalf of the ownership group, Sean O’Meara explains the vision behind the new renovation.
“Our initial vision for the venue was to create a destination venue that would appeal as a multi-purpose venue for locals, tourists, functions and events and importantly somewhere families can go during the day and the kids.
“Australian Venue Co. were the natural partner for us to execute on this vision so 18 months ago we made the decision to partner with AVC to drive the vision and execution as well as operations of the venue which will have a big focus on live music and sports streaming.”
Chief Operating Officer of Australian Venue Co Craig Ellison said they were excited to revamp this iconic pub and create a family-friendly activity hub for the local community.
“The Stables at Terminus will be the go-to beer garden for locals and visitors alike, and we can’t wait to unveil it to the community early next year,” Craig Ellison said.
The Terminus Yarrawonga will remain open and operate as usual during the renovation.
