With kids home for the school holidays, the Echuca Moama Toy Library is a great option for parents who want to keep children entertained on a budget.

The toy library operates the same way a normal library would, with children able to borrow toys for up to a month at a time.
The Toy Library committee president Tammie Wakefield said that the library offered good quality toys and had various benefits for families.
“We look at buying stuff that you wouldn’t normally buy because they’re a bit more expensive, so we buy quality stuff that would last for a while,” she said.
“It gives parents the chance to try it out before buying their own and it's also really good for sustainability because you’re not buying new toys and throwing them away continuously.
“It’s a good community thing too, especially if you’re a new mum, you get to know a few other people.”
The library currently stocks more than 1000 toys including bikes, board games, music instruments and many more.
The committee is also happy to try to source specific toys that children may want.
It is open every Friday from 9.15am to 10.15am and every Saturday from 10.30am to 11.30am.
The toy library is located at 310 Hare St, Echuca.
The committee will be hosting an Open Day on November 9, for parents and children who would be interested in trying out the library.
They currently have more than 60 members and are looking for more people to hop on board.
