The supermarket giant, which is frequented by many locals when visiting neighbouring towns Wangaratta, Benalla or Shepparton will employ 10-15 full time and part-time employees and will be comparable to the Shepparton store in terms of size.
A Duty Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager and Retail Assistants are currently being advertised with no close of application date applied.
Although a spokesperson from Aldi confirmed that the supermarket will emerge locally, when that would be, they could not say.
“We are excited to bring our unique shopping experience to the Yarrawonga community however, at this stage we have not yet determined a timeframe for opening,” the spokesperson said.
“We will update the community as our plans progress. We have nothing further to share at this time.”
The low price supermarket when built will be situated in Kaiela Park adjacent to Bunnings and in close proximity to other brand giants Toyota, Tradelink and PetStock.
A spokesperson for Moira Shire Council said they had been approached by Aldi with a development application submitted almost two years ago but no more has eventuated since.
“A Planning Permit was issued on December, 3 2021 and conditionally approves the development of the site on the corner of Frank Drive and the Murray Valley Highway for the purposes of a supermarket,” a council spokesperson said.
