It recently took out the Rural Municipalities Award at the Association of Consulting Surveyors Victoria (CSV) Public Seminar.
CSV represents businesses employing licensed surveyors, who are responsible for all subdivisions in Victoria.
In presenting the award, CSV President, Michael Degg said the Excellence Award highlighted Benalla Rural City’s exceptional performance in facilitating land and urban development, showcasing their commitment to improving the subdivision and development processes in rural Victoria.
“The Excellence Awards celebrate local councils who go above and beyond in fostering development, while ensuring a high level of service, cooperation, and understanding of relevant legislation,” Mr Degg said.
“Benalla Rural City Council has demonstrated an outstanding approach to land and urban development in rural Victoria, setting an exemplary standard for other municipalities to follow.”
Mr Degg said the recognition not only honours Benalla Rural City Council’s efforts but also serves to inspire continuous improvement across all local councils, ensuring that the surveying and development industry can work effectively in tandem with local government to create better communities for all Victorians.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn said she was thrilled to hear council had received the industry award.
