Duty Managers Alex Bock and Ben Harvey, along with bartender John Mencsh, have banded together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of men, not only within their community but also beyond.
The Movember challenge, which unfolds globally every November. The campaign, which encourages men to grow moustaches, serves as a symbol for raising funds dedicated to the fight against prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health challenges, and suicide prevention.
Encouraged by the movement’s mission to improve men’s health, Alex, Ben and John are growing the ‘stache and raising money.
The local community has already thrown it’s support behind the Club Corowa team’s valiant effort and just two weeks into the Movember challenge, the team has already achieved a commendable milestone, having raised over $500.
“That’s just through conversations with people and others who work here who asked about the moustache,” Team captain Ben shared.
Ben is no newcomer to this charitable cause. This marks his second year participating in Movember, and he’s already made an impressive contribution, raising a substantial $715 for the cause.
“We all know blokes with either mental health or prostate cancer,” he said.
“There are lots of charities out there, but Movember is probably the most visually striking one.”
For John, it’s not the first time he’s sported an interesting look this year, locals will remember the long, bright pink hair which coloured and shaved for the McGrath Foundation.
