Shepparton’s CVGT Employment celebrated NAIDOC Week this week with a remarkable event from the Cooking 4 Life program.

The highlight of the occasion was the in-depth training received by three Aboriginal participants in cooking and barista skills.
CVGT business development consultant David Furci was proud of the participants.
Mr Furci emphasised the organisation’s main goal of connecting individuals with meaningful employment opportunities.
“We are very fortunate to be a part of this week, learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history,” he said.
He also expressed the organisation’s commitment to reconciliation and promoting its clients while embracing the rich Indigenous culture.

Mario Letizia, the driving force behind the Cooking 4 Life program, provided participants with a range of invaluable skills, including coffee-making and certified RTO training and highlighted the strong partnership and collaboration between Cooking 4 Life and CVGT.
He also emphasised the importance of supporting people with programs tailored to their literacy levels and providing qualifications, as generational unemployment could be a significant challenge.
Mr Letizia said his ultimate aim was to break that cycle and open doors of opportunity for all.
The three participants, Ricky, Tim and Will, enjoyed the course and appreciated learning new skills.
Through collaborative efforts and genuine care, CVGT’s NAIDOC Week event created an environment for growth, skill-building and cultural exchange.
