An annual fundraising event hosted by the departing senior students, who auction themselves off to teachers to raise money.
The highest bidding teachers are able to request tasks such as cleaning store rooms, ‘teaching’ their classes, washing cars, making coffee, or whatever else staff members can come up with.
This year’s graduating students raised $1130 as a result.
The auction is a Year 12 tradition which goes back as far as teacher Sue Laing can remember in her time at the school.
‘‘I’ve been teaching for 20 years and it’s always happened in the last week of school, where kids get auctioned off,’’ she said.
Groups could also dress up as part of the fun. Sporting teams, pop culture figures, and a coven of witches were popular.
The action was completed online this year, with teachers adding their bids to teams/tasks, then compelling students to complete said tasks.
The cohort then met to decide which charity they would donate to.
‘‘It’s a good way to knock off from the school year while doing good for the community,’’ Mrs Laing said.
