With both sides of the river participating, you won’t need to travel far to find a great deal, wherever you are located.
Local businesses are offering $1, $5 and $10 deals, encouraging long-time residents and visitors to explore the area and discover local goods and services.
Grab a $1 car rental or head out for a $10 meal of schnitzel and chips.
Feeling fancy? Browse the jewellery selection and treat yourself to a shiny new pair of earrings for just $10.
If you’re looking for a short getaway, one hotel is offering a ‘$10 for a third night’ deal.
All these deals and more are available, with a focus on discovering new favourites and supporting beloved local businesses.
“Dollar Discovery Weekend is an initiative that is really about promoting the businesses in the region, and checking out what’s in your backyard,” Moira Shire Council’s Scott Williams said.
“It’s a celebration of the great businesses in our region.”
Usually, the event lasts for only a weekend. This year, it’s been extended to a full month of celebration. This gives people plenty of time to make the most of the deals and visit new spots they usually wouldn’t get the chance to see.
Dollar Discovery Weekend runs every weekend in August, kicking off on Saturday, August 3.
