Electrical fire stopped in its tracks

Acting Captain Les Booth said the fire is believed to have started in a powerpoint inside the home from a possible circuit overload.

He said, luckily, the safety switch kicked in when the circuit was overloaded.

No-one inside the home was injured.

Power to the house was isolated, and the occupants were instructed to have an electrician investigate.

Before leaving the property about 12pm, firefighters used thermal imaging equipment to check the home for any potential hot spots.
