To be held in Geelong on April 3, the event aims to bring together influential female leaders, innovators, and changemakers within the wool industry from across Australia.
Women in Wool executive director Bianca Heaney said as the global demand for ethically and sustainably produced textiles continued to rise, the wool industry must look to innovation to ensure longevity of this unique, regenerative fibre and the farmers that produce it.
“Our goal is to showcase the incredible contributions of women across the wool industry and empower the next generation of leaders who will continue to push the boundaries of sustainability, innovation and inclusion,” she said.
Inspirational speaker, author and coach, Cynthia Mahoney, will present the keynote address “What Got Us Here Won’t Get Us There: Evolving Leadership for a Changing World”, encouraging women to evolve their leadership practices to meet the demands of the future.
Other speakers include Stacey McKenna, Australian chair of Meat Business Women; Marnie Briggs, general manager of human resources at Australian Wool Handlers; and Robyn Clubb, Elders and Australia Post board member.
Experts from all corners of the wool supply chain will engage in dynamic discussions, exploring topics such as building resilience in male-dominated workplaces, and hearing from local manufacturers and brands such as LoomTex, Wool Grow Australia and Sustainable Living Fabrics.
“This conference is open to all who wish to attend. Bring your knowledge, expertise and passion and share it with others,” Ms Heaney said.
Bookings close on March 20.
