To help celebrate, the Murrumbidgee Council is offering free activities.
In Jerilderie on April 15, from 11am to 3pm, will be Read the Play, involving trivia, games, prizes and fun, for ages 14 to 18 years. Lunch and snacks are provided.
On April 17, for ages 12 to 18 years, there is to be a bus trip to Wagga for paintball and bowling.
In Darlington Point on April 24, there will be a beginners skate workshop from 11am.
Registration is essential for all activities. For further information contact the Jerilderie council office.

Jerilderie CWA members were pleased with the attendance at the CPR training day held at the CWA rooms recently.
Local ambulance crews were on hand to demonstrate and support in the learning experience, which also included how to use a defibrillator.
The ‘students’ found that CPR requires considerable physical stamina, and there were some amusing moments during the day.

The 34th annual Good Friday appeal is being held this Friday at the Jerilderie Sports Club. There will be ambrose golf, both 18 and nine holes, and the bowling greens should also be busy.
Volunteer tin rattlers will be knocking on your doors in the morning, seeking donations for the Good Friday appeal. Your support will be much appreciated.

There might have been the sound of popping champagne corks at the western end of Coreen St last weekend.
Bill Ferris celebrated his 80th birthday on Sunday, and his wife Joan and her sister Pat Read celebrated their slightly lesser birthdays on Monday.
Their next door neighbour, Jenny Neilson, also marked her 50th birthday on Monday.

It is understood that some locals travelled to Albury recently to help Shirley Sherritt, a former Jerilderie-ite, celebrate her milestone occasion. 1944 was a good year.

Students at St Joseph’s Catholic School were in scone-making mode Tuesday last week.
As part of celebrations for the feast day of St Joseph, the school and parish patron saint, students made a considerable quantity of scones, under the watchful eyes of their teachers.
The successful results were then delivered by the children to various business houses and individuals around town, as a mark of service. They were received with surprise and pleasure!

The Easter Service this year at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Jerilderie, will be the Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday, at 6pm.
St Andrew’s Uniting Church will hold an Easter celebration on Sunday at 10.30am, with everybody welcome to attend.

Jerilderie Hospital Auxiliary will meet tomorrow, at 2pm in the meeting room at the hospital.

Five members of the Jerilderie Hospital Auxiliary attended the Regional Forum of the UHA Murray Region, held at the RS Club in Finley, on Friday.
Guest speakers provided information on dementia: those who are diagnosed with it and those who care for them, and what to look for and how to live with dementia.

The Berrigan Shire Dementia Alliance will be holding another information morning at the Finley RS Club on April 11, from 10.15am for 10.30am.
The presentation will seek to clarify the mysteries of My Aged Care Home Care packages, and help to better understand how you can use them to your advantage.
Residents of the Berrigan Shire and surrounding towns are welcome to attend. RSVPs to 5883 9600 are appreciated but not essential.
