In addition, the ‘green spine’ which runs through the project continues to take shape as pathways continue to be constructed and areas being prepared for planting coming into Spring.
Glanmire Park Project Manager and part owner Mark Russell said the team are thrilled to see the project evolve faster than initially anticipated.
“There are now more than 200 dwellings completed and/or under construction, with more coming,” Mr Russell said.
“We have the next 110 allotments located in stages 10 and 11 currently in the statement of compliance phase, with settlements anticipated in the coming months.
“The community will notice more infrastructure works underway, with the entry intersection into the project from Murray Valley Highway now under construction.
“It has been a long process securing all the relevant approvals for these works and we are pleased the works have now commenced construction.”
Due to the nature of the works, limited delays along this section of Murray Valley Highway are anticipated.
“We are extremely conscious of minimising disruptions to the local community and are working collaboratively with the Department of Transport to expedite construction activities and relevant sign offs where possible,” Mr Russell said.
A Department of Transport and Planning spokesperson said the works to this site are being funded and delivered by the developer with the Department of Transport and Planning working closely with the Moira Shire Council, which is the relevant planning authority.
“Under the planning permit, construction works are the responsibility of the developer. Developer-funded works are required to adhere to DTP's design standards,” the spokesperson said.
“We undertake regular inspections of these works to make sure that they meet our standards.
“We encourage road users to report any issues on the arterial road network by calling 13 11 70.”
