LMAC have been involved with a Lake Mulwala restocking program for many years now and in that time have released many thousands of Golden Perch fingerlings into Lake Mulwala.
This program is usually jointly funded with any profits made from the Annual Fishing Competition and NSW DPI with a $4000 grant.
But with the restrictions, border closures etc, due to Covid-19, the competition was cancelled in 2020 and again in 2021.
Even though the club has had virtually no income for two years now, they believe that the restocking of Lake Mulwala is very important to the area and hopefully helps keep the lake as one of the premier fishing locations in northern Victoria and southern NSW.
“We would like to thank John Clarke, ClubMulwala Director, Glen and Maureen Trevena, Yarrawonga Yacht Club, as well as our club members who turned up with boats to help release these fish.
“A special thanks also goes to Kheng Giam, Grace Li, Aaron Li and Guang Bai, who also had an early start as they drove from Melbourne to help with the release. Kheng and his family have been long time supporters of this program with a generous donation each year.”
The release was followed by a BBQ lunch at the Majors Creek boat ramp.
