GV Health doctors flown in to maintain essential services

GV Health had to fly in its doctors from Melbourne on a chartered flight on Monday to help maintain essential services after disruptions on the road due to flooding.

As a result, there will be no changes to essential health services, and GV Health is working to keep them running as normal.

However, GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp has said that as part of this, elective surgeries have been put on hold to prioritise essential services.

“Regrettably, we have had to postpone elective surgeries temporarily,” Mr Sharp said.

“We apologise for this. Patients have been informed, and will be rebooked as soon as we are able to recommence.

“For patients that need regular important treatment, arrangements are in place to ensure this service continues.”

Services at Waranga Health and Tatura Parkvilla Aged Care Facility haven’t been affected by flooding.

Tatura campus experienced a power outage but not for long, after a back-up generator was installed to ensure continuity of power.
