Tungamah is gearing up for their biggest celebration yet as the town sets to turn 150 years old.
On February 14, 15 and 16, 2025, the town of Tungamah will be bustling with activities and historical lovers
On the Friday night there will be a film night for the kids while on Saturday there will be activities galore at Jubilee Park with a waterslide for kids and a band for the adults.
Sunday will see a 10,000m fun run with around 200 cars on display at Jubilee Park.
Over the course of the weekend there will be a display of Tungamah over the years at the museum with a film of the last 150 years playing all day at Jubilee Park
“We have been lucky to have received a grant from council. A representative has attended each of our meetings to help ensure we can put on an event to celebrate our great town and we are looking forward to being able to celebrate everything that Tungamah has achieved,” Tungamah Kickstart Committee President John Tyrell said.
“We will also have some formalities that are still in the pipelines but we will let the community know these details once they have been finalised.
“We are looking for any photos of past "Back to Tungamah" events or any historical photos if anyone would be willing to pass them on to have as part of the display. We would be most grateful.
“We would prefer physical photos but if you have any digital photos, you can send them through to our Secretary .. at slcrawford@gmail.com.
“Also if anyone is interested in joining the committee, we meet the first Monday of the month at 7pm at the Tungamah Civic Centre.”
