Joice carded a 71-5-66, winning the medal on countback from Josh Small.
The ladies medal was taken out by Carol Hardman, who continued her good form after being part of the winning regional two-person ambrose team the previous week, scoring a net 71.
Joice was also Saturday’s A-grade winner from runner-up Ross Taylor net 68; Craig Manning had 71 to win B-grade on countback to Carol Hardman; and Josh Small easily won C-grade from runner-up Jayne Hood 73.
Last Thursday the ladies played versus par and the winner was Prue Grant on -4, from runner-up Kathy Simpson -3.
In Wednesday’s stableford competition in warm conditions the A-grade winner was Jeremy McMahon with 41 points from runner-up Peter Locke 36, and in B-grade Russell Begg had 40 to win from runner-up Norm Purtill 38.
Coming up we have a stableford event tomorrow, ladies ‘mystery round’ on Tuesday and stableford events on Wednesday and Thursday.
The following weekend, November 18 and 19, is the inaugural Reciprocal Teams Challenge, which is a three-person ambrose. There are excellent prizes for members and visitors. All players are required to be a member of Deniliquin Golf Club, or a reciprocal club. Entry forms are available in the clubhouse or pro shop.
Unfortunately the St Michael’s ‘Holey Hitout’ scheduled for last Sunday had to be postponed; a shame because the weather was superb.
Also, an early reminder of the club’s annual general meeting, which will be on Sunday, November 26 at 11am. Financial reports will be available the week prior.
Finally, don’t forget Friday Night Fun, which is on tonight. If you are in Summer Sixers, why not enjoy a quick nine holes of golf, followed by some refreshments and perhaps a meal in the clubhouse.
