Yarrawonga Library was buzzing recently with children keen to learn the art of cartoon drawing.
Visiting Australian illustrator, cartoonist and author Mark Guthrie conducted a workshop teaching children the fundamentals of creating cartoons and illustrations.
Mark shared the story of how he started out as a cartoonist and his journey as an artist for Scholastic, The Disney Channel and Walt Disney Animation Australia. Bringing a wealth of talent and experience and a portfolio of his drawings, Mark captivated the interest of 17 children and 10 adults for two hours.
Lego. Lego. Lego.
Yarrawonga Library was once again busy during the school holidays with young entrepreneurial thinkers creating their dream designs with Lego blocks.
The tubs of Lego were a donation to the Goulburn Valley Libraries from the Fonterra Grass Roots Fund program and are greatly appreciated by library staff and patrons.
Moira natives are loved
In the first week of the school holidays the Yarrawonga Library also held a “Loving Moira’s Natives” activity which was a fun session learning about art, local flora and fauna and growing seeds.
A local artist from Nathalia’s G.R.A.I.N. store explained about our local flora and fauna.
It provided the children with an opportunity to plant some seeds and contribute colouring pages to a booklet of local flora and fauna being compiled.
