The local triathlon club has been hard at it since early November this year, running, swimming and riding weekly each Tuesday.
They didn’t stop for Christmas Eve, and they’ll continue tonight on New Year’s Eve too.
On Christmas Eve, participants got into the Christmas spirit with bike decorations, dress ups and a barbecue to make the evening more festive.
Known for its community spirit, the triathlon club is the perfect place for someone looking to continue their interest in the sport or even someone looking to try triathlon for the first time.
Club member Sue Milligan said the club does a “fantastic job” of creating a strong engaging community and community spirit, bringing young people and adults together with all levels of experience, the club is a great way to get fit and stay connected.
She is keen to see as many people getting involved as possible, and said it’s the perfect means to an end if your regular fitness activities are in recess due to the holiday period.
Mulligan said irrespective of your experience or even when you sign up with the club, members would be more than happy to have you involved.
This also goes for people new to town and those visiting Deniliquin, she said.
The Deniliquin Triathlon Club meets at McLean Beach each Tuesday, with activities kicking off about 6pm.
Anyone new to the club or sport is asked to arrive by 5.30pm to complete registration.
