Moira Shire Council has confirmed the resignations of Libro Mustica and John Beitzel as Mayor and Councillor of Moira Shire Council.

Cr Mustica has had a historic run as mayor, running for five terms. His retirement has come out of his desire to spend more time with his family, and to focus on his health and his local business.
Cr Mustica has said he is thankful to the community for electing him and supporting him throughout the years.
Moira Shire CEO Clare Keenan has thanked Cr Mustica for his service, describing his leadership as fantastic and that his influence on the community through his years of service will not be forgotten.
“Libro has worked tirelessly for a very long time to represent his community and we wish him all the best as he now takes time to focus on family, health and business,” Ms Keenan said.
Moira Shire has also seen the departure of Cr Beitzel. He served two terms and the council thanked him for the dedication and energy he brought to the role.
Both resignation were passed in to council last Thursday, November 3 and council staff were informed on Friday.
The Victorian Electoral Commission will be working with Moira Shire Council to replace the two extraordinary vacancies with details to be provided to the public once they they are confirmed.
The mayoral election will be held on Wednesday, November 9, from 5pm at the Cobram Civic Centre.
Deputy John Lawless will perform the role of mayor until the mayoral election.
