The 50-year-old miniature railway is going strong again thanks to a complete refurbishment with the support of local businesses and the community.
Pro Finish and S&A Automotive provided complementary re-spraying to the train's engines and carriages, and Tunzafun Mulwala's volunteers reconditioned the engine so it's now set to bring joy to young and old for another fifty years. Updated landscaping adds to the appeal, taking visitors through the redeveloped community garden.
"Our volunteers have worked tirelessly on this project for months, and it's thanks to their hard work and the support of local businesses that we're now able to reopen this great attraction,” Manager of Tunzafun Mulwala David King said.
“The vintage miniature railway provides another addition to Tunzafun Mulwala's existing attractions both new and old, including new and retro dodgem cars, Carousel, Spinning Teacups, Mini Golf, and shaded BBQ area.
"After a disrupted past few years, we're really excited to welcome visitors back to Tunzafun Mulwala over the coming Summer holiday season to enjoy quality time with family and friends,” David said.
Tunzafun Mulwala is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation supported by the Mulwala Progress Association. Its purpose is to provide visitors young, and young-at-heart, with reasonably-priced entertainment.
Tunzafun Mulwala's opening hours are 10AM-4PM Saturday and Sundays, Public
Holidays and all Victorian School Holidays.
The miniature railway is set to be re-launched with a ribbon cutting at 5pm on Wednesday, December 14. For enquiries, contact David King, Manager Tunzafun Mulwala on 0405 074 990.
