It has been pleasing, but not surprising, to learn that people who grew up in Mathoura continue to hold dear friendships they made in their youth.
One group regularly travels from Melbourne to visit a friend who has fallen on hard times.
Even if it is just sitting around for a chat about ‘the good old days’, I know their visits are welcomed by their friend and brighten up his days.

The latest newcomer for the Timbercutters is Riley Hillyear.
Riley, who has signed up for the 2024 season, comes to the club from Bundoora.
The club not only looks after the players on the field, it also feeds them well after training on Thursday nights.
There has recently been a change to the menu and comments are being sought.

Best wishes go to local bloke Bob Hancock in this edition.
Last year, around this time, Bob celebrated his 100th birthday.
Seeing how easily that was achieved, he has decided to keep going and see how far he can get.
Now sitting on 101 years, it’s best wishes for many more.
