More than 35 businesses were finalists in this category, which saw 3700 votes from the public received over a six-week period.
Café owners Joel Raglus and Leon McAsey were humbled by the honour.
“We didn’t know,” Mr McAsey said.
“When I heard how many votes were cast, I thought, ‘yeah, I think so’, because we had a massive amount of people who voted for us.
“We had signs up at work.”
Opening in March 2023, the café has gone from strength-to-strength, attracting visitors from across the region and beyond to Girgarre, a dot on the Campaspe Murray region map.
Combined with the Gargarro Botanic Gardens, the café presents a unique offering for a town of under 600 people.
“It’s awesome that people come to us,” Mr Raglus said.
“We’re nothing, really, but they want to drive out and they see everything, and they love it.”
For a business that did not even exist when the awards were held in 2022, the recognition was overwhelming.
“I am blown away,” Mr Raglus said.
