Picola District Football Netball League conducted a six-game under 17 season between four NSW based clubs: Jerilderie, Blighty, Berrigan and Deni Rovers.
Unfortunately due to the border closure Rennie was unable to field a side due to the majority of its list residing in Victoria.
NSW-based Rennie boys Ethan Stephens, Ben Coghill, James Shaw, Brodie Benjamin, Tom Kennedy and Ben Kennedy were invited to join Jerilderie to play out the season, along with Blair Eddy from Tocumwal.
Jerilderie won two games for the season, beat Deni Rovers in the first preliminary final and made their way into the grand-final against undefeated Berrigan.
And the young Demons proved too good, beating Berrigan by 19 points with the scores 53 to 34.
“All the Rennie boys played major roles in the win,” Rennie Football Netball Club President Matt Stephens said.
Ethan Stephens was co-captain of the premiership side with Jerilderie’s Rory Knight.
Ben Kennedy also played in Jerilderie’s under 14 side; the centreman winning the best and fairest and also tying for second in the league’s most valuable player.
“The Rennie Football Club would like to thank the Jerilderie Football Club for the way they welcomed the boys and families,” Mr Stephens said.
