The industry award is judged by clients of participating salons who rate their experiences online.
Trainer and assessor of hairdressing at GOTAFE Shepparton Danielle Pigatto said winning the award for a second time has boosted the morale of both staff and students.
“The award reflects the dedication of both our trainers and students, who put so much care into providing the best possible experience for customers,” Ms Pigatto said.
Certificate III in Hairdressing student Maggie Broughton said the customer experience is her number one priority.
“At the end of the day, the clients are the reason I do what I do, so making sure they have a great experience is extremely important,” she said.
Food rescue charity on a recruitment drive
Shepparton FoodShare is on the lookout for a warehouse coordinator for its facility in Mooroopna.
The vital charity was able to secure the high-profile recruitment of former ABC radio breakfast announcer Matt Dowling last year, but Mr Dowling is moving onto new challenges and his replacement must be found.
Shepparton FoodShare partners with supermarkets, businesses, and other food rescue agencies to respond to food insecurity in the region.

Workers considering new opportunities in the aged care, disability and support sector will have the opportunity for a kind of professional “speed dating” in Shepparton on Friday, November 17.
Workforce Australia Local Jobs is hosting a recruitment event to connect local workers with employers in the aged care, disability and support sectors.
The event will include opportunities for short job interviews with participating employers.
The event will be held at the Quality Hotel Parklake Shepparton, on Friday, November 17 between 9.30am and 12.30pm.

Munarra and La Trobe University sign MOU
A memorandum of understanding signed by Munarra and La Trobe University will focus on supporting the aspirations of Indigenous people and advancing their economic participation and prosperity in the Goulburn Murray region.
La Trobe’s Shepparton Head of Campus, Elizabeth Capp, said the memorandum of understanding will benefit the community for years.
An initiative of the Rumbalara Football Netball Club, the centre partners the club with the Kaiela Institute and University of Melbourne, with support from the Victorian Government and Greater Shepparton City Council to foster social and economic prosperity in the Goulburn-Murray region.

When cultural celebrations and marketing collide
Some high-level marketing campaigns have crossed our desk at the News of late.
If you weren’t aware there is a 7-Eleven Day, you do now.
Of course, 7-Eleven Day had to be held on the seventh of the 11th, with more than 740 7-Eleven stores across the country offering a free regular coffee or large Slurpee for customers with any purchase on that day.
Meanwhile, KFC was doing its best to cash in on our love for romance and, apparently, onion rings, by offering a “lucky” couple a $80,000 KFC wedding, which amounts to a lot of family feasts.
KFC encouraged prospective proposers to “get down on one knee” and propose using an onion ring as an engagement ring.
