Almost like a dorm house with five rooms in total in where residents have their own living space, they also share the general living facilities such as the kitchen, living room, library and patios at both ends of the house.
This Saturday, October 12 from 10am – 2pm an open house will be held with a number of members from the RSL in attendance to explain the facilities that are available.
Currently there is one room vacant which will be open for the public to view which also faces east and has plenty of storage.
When a new resident moves in, they are able to bring their own furniture if they like however the rooms are furnished if need be. Linen is also supplied.
Meals are supplied by Yarrawonga Health with all services you may need in a very short distance.
Yarrawonga Health is directly across the road, doctors’ clinics and other health services are in the one street and the chemist, cafes and main street are only a block away.
The house is around 100 years old and was built by Dr Kennedy and taken over by the RSL sub-branch.
It is not necessarily just a residence for service men and women with an interview process taking place by three local RSL sub-committee members after they have filled in the application.
The RSL are also currently looking for a caretaker as Bev Christie who has taken on the role and manages the garden as well is becoming unable to do the job anymore.
There will be members of the RSL on hand to speak to about any enquires as well as a giveaway of plants as well as tea, coffee and cake.
