All races the students competed in were finals. Competitors finishing in 1st place qualified for the State Championships in Melbourne with 2nd and 3rd place getters receiving a medal and a place on the podium.
Sacred Heart had a mixture of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place getters throughout the day.Emily Judd, Wally Hammon (3rd) and Lach Cruikshank (9/10yrs), Chelsea Carroll (3rd) and Fraser Nagle (11yrs) and James Cummins (12 yrs) competed in the 50m Freestyle event.
Emily and Fraser both finished in 1st place and will go onto represent the school at the State Swimming Championships to be held in Melbourne on April 26. Well done Emily and Fraser.
Makayla George, Wally Hammon (2nd) and Charlie Bourke (9/10yrs), Chelsea Carroll and Fraser Nagle (11yrs) and James Cummins (12/13yrs) competed in the 50m Backstroke.
Fraser was again victorious finishing in 1st place. Emily Judd (9/10yrs) represented the school in the 50m Breaststroke.In the 9/10 yrs Freestyle Relay, Emily Judd, Makayla George, Billie-Jo Buerckner and Maddi Kerr came 2nd in their event.
In the 9/10 yrs Boys Freestyle Relay, Wally Hammon, Lachlan Cruikshank, Charlie Bourke and Tom Lee-Conway also came 2nd. A fantastic effort by all the young swimmers.
In the 11 yrs Boys Freestyle relay, Fraser Nagle, Noah Cox, Eliot Bye and Sam Osborne came 5th. Well done boys.
In the 12/13 yrs Girls 50m Freestyle Relay, Lucy Judd, Emily Buerckner, Alexia Nagle and Elle Hammon swam very well and finished in 1st place. They will also go on to the State Championships and represent the school.
In the 12/13 yrs Girls 50m Medley Relay, Emily Buerckner, Lucy Judd, Alexia Nagle and Chelsea Carroll brought home a silver medal finishing in 2nd spot.
All eighteen students who competed, represented the school proudly.
