Now, a touch of Australian influence has made its way into the world-famous Hollywood nightclub.
Anthony Lucas, a singer-songwriter from Shepparton, has surged in popularity during his stint in the States, resulting in his one-off performance at The Viper Room.
“I was told how famous it is, so I wanted to give it my all,” Lucas said.
His ‘all’ had promoters come calling, which led to the announcement of a surprise second live show.
“Adding a second show so last minute was honestly something that gave me so much anxiety,” Lucas said.
“Promoters were really confident we’d be able to pull it off — that we did.”
When the genre-melding artist stepped on stage, he was greeted by a full house that cheered loudly during his 90-minute set of original songs and well-known covers.
The spectacle was a milestone in Lucas’s career.
After all, this is the same stage where some of the greatest and most influential artists — Iggy Pop, Courtney Love, Lenny Kravitz and Oasis — found their groove.
However, Lucas has not had a moment to stop and stargaze.
His eyes are fixed on the prize that goes beyond the tops of heads in the mosh pit: recording his “biggest project yet”.
The ambitious singer said he would remain in Los Angeles until the end of October, focusing on recording with Hollywood producers.
Meanwhile, his overseas fan base continues to gather force like a typhoon.
“I’m so over the moon with the love I have had from my American fans,” Lucas said.
