With children under 14 free and adults only $10 with many things to entertain them for free inside, many people spent the whole day there, combining to make this year’s show a great success.
Yarrawonga and Border Show Secretary Sue Jackson said it was a fantastic show with wonderful gate attendance of lots of happy children and adults.
“The Wild Action Zoo is a standout and always draws a large crowd,” Ms Jackson said.
“Dan the Magician captivates his audience and the Distinctive Melbourne Carriages took over 360 people for a free ride around the town.
“For the little ones, Old Kentucky Animal Nursery, the children’s pavilion full of activities and the face painters were kept busy.
“We had many groups on display including the CFA, SES, Police, Ambulance and the Royal Flying Doctors plane which were popular.
“Our main pavilion was wonderful with its new look thanks to a recent grant from the Moira Shire.
“The sheep pavilion was full but unfortunately with recent bird flu viruses ,we were unable to have water fowls which meant the poultry pavilion numbers were down.
“The Smash Up Derby and the racing cars put on a terrific display and Friday night’s fireworks were again a highlight as the weather improved as the show went on.
“To our sponsors, our site holders, our local community groups who joined us and our volunteers, thank you. We wouldn’t be able to do it without you.
“To our committee, you all worked hard and we are already planning next year’s show.
“Our brand-new system for entering only went live six weeks ago so we know there is a bit to iron out but we would dearly love more help, so please reach out.”
