The Yarrawonga Showgrounds Community Asset Committee, including representatives from all user groups, have been consulted and provided positive feedback for the proposed project.
The current toilet block does not meet the current requirements for accessible and ambulant facilities, door widths, landing and graded paths.
Moira Shire Council acknowledges the importance of the community being able to utilise council facilities regardless of their abilities and is committed to ensuring that the community has access to facilities that meet their needs.
The upgraded public toilet facilities will provide amenity for the many casual users of the reserve such as dog walkers, as well as for markets and events.
The project is scheduled to commence in the coming months, and council will continue to work with the Yarrawonga Showgrounds Community Asset Committee and other stakeholders throughout the process.
The non-compliant toilet block will be replaced with a modular toilet block, similar to the design of the recently installed Wunghnu toilet block.
