Murray Downs Golf & Country Club CEO Greg Roberts will officially commence his role on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Mr Roberts brings over 30 years of experience in the hospitality and club industry having held numerous senior management positions ranging from marketing manager to general manager and chief executive officer. Previously he was General Manager of accommodation properties in Canberra for the Premier Hotel Group.
More recently Mr Roberts has successfully led the Murray Downs Golf & Country Club for the past 16 years and previously managed the Tocumwal Golf Club, where he made significant contributions to both club’s growth and success.
President of Mulwala Waterski Club, Matt Holgate, expressed his enthusiasm for Mr Robert’s appointment and his impressive industry background.

“Greg’s extensive background in the industry, along with his familiarity with the Murray River region, makes him the ideal choice to lead our club into the future.
“His leadership style and vision align perfectly with our values and goals, and we are confident that he will build on the fantastic work done by Peter Duncan."
Mr Roberts’ connection to the region extends beyond his professional experience and is currently the Deputy Chair of the Murray Regional Tourism Board and the local Swan Hill Incorporated board.
“This further emphasizes his deep ties and commitment to the local community,” Mr Holgate said.
“Greg is widely respected throughout the industry for his clear communication, ability to lead by example, and unwavering commitment to team success.”
Speaking to the Chronicle last week Mr Roberts said he is excited about his new role at the ski club.
“I have watched the club’s growth over the years, it’s such a strong club and I am keen to be part of its ongoing success,” Mr Roberts said.
A keen kayaker, golfer and mountain bike enthusiast Mr Roberts said he and his wife Melissa are more than familiar with the area and are looking forward to making Yarrawonga Mulwala their new home.
“We are looking at buying a house in the local area, have family in Albury and happy to be still living along the river,” Mr Roberts said.
Reflecting on the recruitment process, Mr Holgate said the board undertook an extensive search to find the best match for our club’s future.
“We are proud of the thorough approach taken to ensure we selected a candidate who will not only continue our progress but also bring new and exciting opportunities to the club and community,” Mr Holgate said.
“As we look forward to a new chapter under Greg’s leadership, we also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Peter Duncan for his years of dedicated service.
