Adelaide Haley was awarded the 2022 Tocumwal Pharmacy Prize for Pupil of the Year after an excellent year with her studies.
In his annual address, principal Darren White paid tribute to the staff, students and families of the school community who each played a role in the continued academic success of TPS.
“2022 has been a year of consolidation after COVID-19 with excellent results being achieved across the board.
“Our school maintains a healthy balance of teaching and learning, which is supported in our National Assessment Program Testing where our students demonstrate significant growth and development above the state average in all areas.
“In addition, we were identified as a leading school within New South Wales, especially in the areas of literacy, and as such were selected as an Accelerated Adopter School to implement and help co-design parts of the new K-2 English Curriculum that will be rolled out to all schools in 2023.
“It is a wonderful reward for our hardworking and knowledgeable teaching staff.
“Teachers’ programs at Tocumwal PS provide a well-balanced education that values and supports the intellectual, creative, physical, social and emotional development of each child in a safe, secure, disciplined and quality-learning environment.”
