Tungamah 39 defeated Tocumwal 36.
It was a tough game from the word go with Jayanna sustaining an injury in the warmup, but the girls started out with strong defensive pressure and hunger for the ball.
Not long into the first quarter another injury was sustained which led to an under 17s player, Penny to step up into GD.
Scores continued to stay close over the whole match. The Bears girls continued to fight for every ball as a strong cohesive team throughout the entire match, despite fatigue setting in.
All players played their role beautifully and support from each team member was what got the Bears over the line in the final quarter to win by 3.
A great first win from a side that is just learning how to gel. A big thank you to Penny for not only stepping up to play a full game of A grade after already playing a full game in her under 17s match, but for also doing an amazing job in her GD role.
Awards: Players player Wingates - Abby Rickard Coaches award free as a bird - Penny Thomson.

Tungamah 53 defeated Tocumwal 14.
The coach asked the girls for lots of defensive pressure this week and from the first whistle the team showed they were ready to work for the ball and defend every pass.
Kara and Molly worked well together in goals and Brodie and Tahnee fought for every intercept and rebound in the defensive end.
The mid court put pressure on the opposition and provided plenty of opportunities to score. At half time the score was 24 to 4 and with the hea,t a couple of changes were made to bring on fresh legs in the mid court and goals.
The second half saw the same defensive pressure and willingness to back each other up and consolidate turnovers into goals.
Throughout the game fatigue crept in and lead to a few errors with passing and saw the Bears begin to lead away from the ball rather than to it.
With a bye this week the girls will train hard and work on a few key areas of the game to be ready to take on Strathmerton in round 5.
Thank you to Yarrawonga Football Netball Club for the use of their ground.

Even with the hotter than usual conditions the girls were off to a fast-paced start. Carly, Steph and Flick moved beautifully in the goal ring creating lots of opportunity for scoring shots.
Emma, Ally, Lisa and Mariah continuously driving the ball down the mid court, making sure to chase up every loose ball and creating pressure causing turnovers.
Kait, Kirby and Grace provided excellent defensive pressure making the Toc shooters work hard for every goal.
All the best to Felicity who now leaves for the rest of the season to study over in New Zealand!
Awards: Bella Pelle - Lisa Ramadge and Miss Dolly - Grace Whitelock.

Tungamah 25 defeated Tocumwal 13.
The Bears won: the first win in 3 seasons. Sally’s first game coaching, crying with pride and joy as she gave her end of game spiel.
Teamwork, loud voices and putting training into practise was evident on the court. Leanne, Katie and Sheryl with their amazing teamwork in the ring.
Leanne’s goals were on fire, Sheryl’s super quick passes were key to many points and Katie played well in her 50th game for Tungamah.
Brooke has joined the usual shooting trio and worked beautifully around the ring. Bridge, Amy and Shaz all worked well in the centre creating lots of turn overs.
Shaz being super-fast on her feet and Amy just being exactly where you need her to be every time. Bridge putting in 100% in her first day as Captain but unfortunately coming off injured in the first quarter. The club are hoping for a speeding recovery and to see her back on the court soon.
Sally, Amber and Georgia worked really well together in defence. Amber always surprising with her speed, Georgia always being there and creating many turn overs, and Sally always doing amazing whilst complaining she is too old for netball.
Vanessa had a last-minute decision to further rest her injury from training, staying to support on the side and offer lots of advice.
A few things to work on but the girls are looking forward to a great season.
Awards: Bella Pelle – Amber and Miss Dolly Amy.
Under 17s
Tungamah 10 defeated by Tocumwal 22.
Unfortunately, the Bears didn’t get the win this weekend however they showed huge improvement this week and did everything they were asked of from training.
The defensive end played hard and had a lot more determination to get that ball this week. The attacking end also came out of their shell this week and started to put more shots up.
Overall great improvement from last week.
Awards: Players player Crusty Loaf – Penny and Coaches award McDonalds – Brodie.

Tungamah 12 defeated by Tocumwal 21.
Unfortunately, it was not the result the club were hoping for, but the girls gave it their all.
The Bears came up against a very quick team, but the girls did well to apply pressure and get many turnovers. Defence end was very strong all game, getting rebounds and sticking body on body whilst the attackers worked hard around the ring and down the court.
The girls did well to get their hands over the ball and apply their knowledge from training into game days.
Bad luck girls but head up, much more to work focus and learn at training.
Thanks to Luke for scoring and Jake for first aiding this week.
Awards: Addi - McDonalds, Marney- Crusty Loaf.
Under 13s
Tungamah 7 defeated by Tocumwal 18.
The young Bears side should be very proud of their effort. Even though they didn’t get the win, they were able to put lots of defensive pressure to contain Tocumwal’s score.
Defenders Emily B, Emily C and Lilli fought all game with tall arms and sticking with their opponents. They also turned the ball over multiple times which enabled the midcourt of Abbi, Jaz and Demmi to move the ball, these girls didn’t stop moving all game, lots of re-leading and creating space.
Maddi and Elli combined well in attack and were able to work around the ring and find opportunities to shoot goals.
Special mention to Elli who stepped out of her comfort zone as a defender and proved that attack may be her future; her lack of height in the ring did not stop her shooting goals and getting rebounds from girls much taller than her.
Thanks to U11s Kiera and Chloe for sitting on the bench this week. Thanks to Dan for umpiring.
Awards: Player’s award Crusty Loaf: Elli and Coach award Lilli.
Under 11s
The mini Bears played well as a team, there was lots of leading to the ball and creating space.
The wonderful Coach Deb was on the sidelines, guiding the girls up and down the court. Welcome back to Molly who has joined the team, she was always an option in the midcourt.
Billie-Jo and Kiera fought for every ball in the midcourt and were able to work well and move the ball down quickly.
Grace made very strong leads on the oppositions centres and was able to create turnovers.
Chaye again as defence, showed her determination and didn’t stop fighting and defending for the entire game.
Ava, Paige, Chloe and Poppy in the attack moved well, created space and re-lead if necessary.
Poppy was able to shoot her first goal of the season with her parents celebrated from the sidelines. Thanks to Tahnee for umpiring.
Awards: Crusty Loaf: Molly and Coaches: Chaye.
