Tungamah took to the court knowing their last game for the season was going to be a tough one. Deni came out firing, with their strong defensive pressure making it very tough for the Bears to get the ball to the goalers.
The second half saw a lift in the defensive pressure meaning Abbey and Maddie could get their hands on some turnovers, giving Tungamah all a much-needed lift.
Sharnie’s experience was essential in the Bears changing their attacking play and opening up the court and Ella‘s great drive was again crucial in Tungamah getting the ball through the mid court.
The score line was much closer in the second half as the girls found their feet. Well done to all players on a great season.
With a bunch of very talented young girls this season, the commitment and improvement throughout the year has been outstanding.
Awards: Best on Court and Thyme for Coffee Award - Ella Jones, Judds Award - Abbey Griffin, Tungamah Hotel Award - Sharnie Walden.

Knowing this was their last game for the season, the girls had fun on the court enjoying their netball. Unfortunately, Deni were too strong, and although the Tungamah girls tried their best to keep the ball flowing to their goal end, Deni were quick to intercept the passes.
The fourth quarter had changes made throughout the whole team, and the girls had some fun in positions they hadn’t tried before.
Giving themselves and the spectators a laugh, they ended the game and the season, all smiles. Well done girls.
Awards: $20 Judds - Lani Crawford, Brewit - Sharelle Vella.

What a day for the last game for the season. The girls knew Deni would be extremely tough but determined to not let it upset their fun for the last game they came out strong in the first quarter.
First half of the game there were some really impressive intercepts and great passages of play, showing how much the team has improved.
Apart from Vanessa taking out her own player, Sally taking the fall, Tungamah mostly stayed upright this game.
Dan scored herself another goal for the season, look out next year Dan is going to be an all rounder.
For a bit of fun the Bears changed things up in the last quarter with Sheryl and Stace moving into defence, Vanessa into centre and Anna and Sally into goals where Sally (if you haven’t already heard) shot her first goal for the season.
The girls finished up with smiles on their faces and the club couldn’t ask for anything more. It has been a tough year but these girls have been amazing all the best for 2020.Awards; Byramine Homestead and Brewery - Danielle Lawrence. Thyme for coffee café - Sally Eales and Sheryl McBurnie.

A great effort by the girls to end the home and away season. This game was fast paced from start to finish and the girls matched their opponents in their agility and skill.
The ball was turned over time and time again and they kept the pressure up. Down by one going into the second quarter (11/12), they came out firing with quick, smart passes and intercepts.
The turnovers were used to their advantage, getting them back down to the shooters.
They finished the quarter down by three. (20/24).
The second half began with just as great intensity as the first half. Midcourt did a great job intercepting and turning over the ball.
Covering the whole court, with smart footwork and strong passes enabled the ball to flow quickly and freely down the thirds.
The girls managed to gain on their opponents winning the quarter.
Lots of talk could be heard on the court and the pressure was tight. The defenders did their best to hold Deni’s shooters from entering the goal circle and repositioning themselves for the rebounds.
Going into the fourth, Deni had a lead of three goals (31/34) and Tungamah did not let their guard down and continued to apply the pressure.
The Tungamah shooters were having a great day out, but Deni was just as strong in their pressure.
In the end, it was not to be the Bears day but given that Deni were sitting second on the ladder and Tunga fifth, Tungamah fought hard to the end, going down by only seven (38/45).
They never gave up and showed lots of aggression at the ball and maintained pressure the whole game. Awesome effort girls. Well done on making the finals.
The club will all be there to cheer you on next week.

Deni girls came out strong and showed Tungamah why they are the top, undefeated side this season.
To Tungamah’s credit they never dropped their heads and fought hard all game.
The girls have come such a long way from the start of the season a credit to Abbey and Georgia with their dedication and commitment to the juniors has been wonderful.
The club was very lucky to have these 2 young girls step up and lead these girls 13 of them (which is very tricky getting everyone court time) in the manner they did. Fantastic work girls.
Awards went to Everyone for their great season.

The girls had a great last game showing their improvements from the start of the year. Chloe was a great back up while ensuring positioning herself with maximum opportunities on court. Heidi and Addieson dominated play and worked tirelessly always being an option and never stopping, working many different positions throughout the game.
Alektra worked super hard in WD and WA with great determination and pressure on court. The club wish the best of luck to those in finals and a big thank you to all sponsors, committee, parent helpers and Team Manager Amy for all their help and support.
Shout out to Kim for coaching and encouragement too.

Today wasn’t the Bears day on the netball court but as always the girls smiled and played the best they could.
Everyone witnessed flying superwomen style intercepts as well as fast and precise passages of play into the ring.
A special mention must go to Lara who has played goals all year but due to her height is usually towered by an opponent and overlooked as an option, this week was her day to shoot her first goal.
What amazing improvement the mini Bears have made during the season, it has been a pleasure watching all the girls grow as netballers.
A huge thankyou to Deb for coaching all year, the girls were very lucky to have you share your netball knowledge and skills.
Thank you also to award sponsors Subway, McDonalds and Crusty Loaf.
