Upgraded rehabilitation facility opens in Molyullah

A new 35-bed rural rehabilitation centre has opened in Molyullah, expanding upon Odyssey House’s work to combat addiction in regional Victoria.

State Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, attended the opening of the Circuit Breaker program’s upgraded facility, alongside colleagues from both the state and federal governments.

“As the name suggests, Circuit Breaker is a rehabilitation facility that offers residents a space to heal and a chance to reset their lives,” Ms Cleeland said.

“With addiction unfortunately being so prevalent in our regional areas, supporting facilities like this is crucial for the future of impacted individuals, families, and entire communities.

“This is a facility that will work hand in hand with our healthcare system, ensuring that we can take some of the strain of our medical, social, and police services too.

“While issues remain with addiction treatment in our region, particularly when it comes to ensuring people can access detox services at our medical facilities prior to joining the program, however facilities like this do a fantastic job at addressing a major concern for so many in our towns.”

This development was supported by the federal and state government, as well as significant fundraising by the Odyssey House team, a recognition of the need for drug and alcohol rehabilitation in regional Victoria.

The Circuit Breaker program provides a six-week live-in rehabilitation program, as well as an extended program for people affected by alcohol and other drug addiction and associated mental health issues.
