Rally Around Victoria is part of Variety: the Children’s Charity’s largest annual fundraisers which helps kids experiencing disability, disadvantage or illness.
Supported by ACE Radio, the four-day rally travelling 1500km commenced in Melbourne on Friday before finishing in Whitfield on Monday.
Variety Motoring Events Manager Scott Watson said that the second annual Rally Around Victoria has been amazing with everyone involved having a great time, getting to dress up as pirates for their dinner and stay at The Sebel, and the community providing fantastic support.
“While having twenty-five cars involved in the Rally around Victoria this year, each car had at least two people in it which was great to see,” Mr Watson said.
“This is the second time we have held this particular event after lockdowns and covid restrictions over the past few years prevented us crossing state borders and we found success in remaining just in Victoria.
“The Variety Bash will still continue to travel across Australia but the Rally Around Victoria is going to continue to host their own event each year also to get around to towns within our own state.
“We choose towns that need it the most to visit and love seeing the faces of the children when we deliver grants or goodies such as Rochester where we delivered a trailer full of toys after they suffered with floods last year.
“We are looking to continue hosting the event the weekend before the March long weekend each year and are already looking forward to our 2024 event.”
Lotus Living, developers of Silverwoods Resort (including The Sebel Yarrawonga and Black Bull Golf Course) have very proudly supported and raised important funds for Variety Childrens Charity over the years and jumped at the opportunity to host the rally entrants this year.
“It was an absolute pleasure to see the Variety rally group drop in for a stay at The Sebel Yarrawonga and enjoy a dinner and evening at Stock and Barrel along their current rally journey,” Silverwoods Resort General Manager Andrew Freak said.
“We wish them all the very best with their travels for such an incredibly wonderful cause.”
The final tally of the 2023 event was not finalised at the time of print of the Yarrawonga Chronicle but will appear in a future edition.
