A third man was conveyed to Wangaratta Hospital. No charges have been laid at this stage with police investigating the cause of the altercation.
At 8.00pm on the night, it appears the altercation occurred between two males known to each other according to Detective Senior Sergeant Garry Barton of Cobram Police Station.
“A third male suffered serious injuries to his leg which police believe was caused by a weapon,” he told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“One of the two males in a father/son team is injured after being seriously bashed and is in the Alfred Hospital. Police are piecing together the crime scene. The father is in Wangaratta Hospital and his son is in Alfred Hospital.”
The father and son are aged 53-years and 30-years; the other male is aged 62-years.
The scene was attended by Cobram Uniform Police, Cobram CIU, Yarrawonga Uniform and Numurkah Uniform Police.
“This is a violent attack unknown at this stage what the motive was,” Det.Sen.Sgt Barton said. “Through the assistance of the community and swift response by police, two offenders were arrested at the scene.”
