The event, organised by the Cobram Quilters, will run on Saturday from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday from 10pm to 3pm.
It is the first time the group is hosting the event since lockdowns in 2019, and president Marg Andrew said the more people attended, the better.
“”It feels really good ... we’d love for everyone to come, and we would really welcome them,” she said.
The Cobram Quilters are hosting the event to promote quilting and the creative arts, display the artistic talent of group members and give locals a lovely day out.
The group comprises about 30 individuals of varying skill levels who meet at the Cobram Community House every second Friday of the month and at Yarroweah Memorial Hall every fourth Sunday.
The group is well known regionally for donating quilts members have made to people in need.
Recipients of donations include flood victims in 2022, victims of house fires and the snuggly quilt program at the Royal Children Hospital in Melbourne.
Along with displays of quilt work by members, there will be demonstrations of patchwork and quilting techniques and a raffle with tickets costing $2.
The first prize is a handmade quilt, the second is a table runner, and the third is a Leesa Chandler handbag.
South Fabric Echuca and Catharinas Vintage Stitches Kyabram will sell quilting material at the event.
As for why one should be interested in quilting, Ms Andrew said Cobram Quilters allowed its members to learn a great skill and socialise equally.
“You can be creative and enjoy great social benefits with the group’s support while learning and being with friends.”
Tickets are $6 with food available to purchase.
