A man was arrested on the Midland Hwy in Shepparton at the weekend after allegedly attempting to kidnap multiple people.
The man allegedly approached a 27-year-old Moonee Ponds woman walking along Forest St, Whittlesea, on Friday, October 25.
Police allege he attempted to force her into a grey Mitsubishi Triton about 6.20pm, before driving towards Church St, Whittlesea.
The woman was physically uninjured in the incident.
Police said they believed the same man earlier approached two teenage girls riding scooters on Oak Bank Boulevard just after 6am.
The Whittlesea girls, aged 13 and 14, fled and were unharmed.
A 39-year-old Mill Park man driving a ute was pulled over by police on the Midland Hwy, Shepparton, on Saturday, October 26 at about 9am.
He has been charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated assault and attempted kidnap.
He was remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on October 28.
