A Mooroopna man has been charged with murder after the death of a man in Echuca on Saturday, November 2.
Aaron James Hare, 30, of Mooroopna appeared in Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with murder.
The court appearance comes after emergency services were called to a property on McSwain Rd, in Echuca, about 7.30pm on Saturday.
A 56-year-old Echuca man was found dead inside the home.
Police arrested Mr Hare at the scene.
Police said it was believed the men were known to each other.
On Monday, he was charged with one count of murder and was remanded to appear before Bendigo Magistrates’ Court later that day.
In court, he made no application for bail.
The prosecutor did, however, ask the magistrate to confirm an interim compulsory procedure order that would allow police to take DNA samples.
Mr Hare will next appear in court in May next year.
