The Mulwala A graders overcame a tough Deni Rams outfit last Saturday to secure their spot in the 2023 Grand Final against Tongala.
In perfect netball conditions, and spurred on by a loud contingent of supporters, the girls knew they had to keep possession and score on each of their centre passes, if they were to beat the reigning premiers.
After a shaky start the goalers got their eyes in and provided no opportunity for the Rams to pull away with the lead.
The mid courters worked tirelessly all game and again combined well to each deliver a four quarter performance.
The defenders again showed why they are a formidable combination, both played a disciplined and patient game, sticking to the game plan and being rewarded for their efforts as the game got into the final stages.
With Mulwala down by 1 goal going into the final quarter, the Lions knew they didn’t want this to be their final 15 minutes for the season, however the Rams came out just as determined and the lead changed numerous times in the early stages.
The Lions knew they had to grind it out and everyone lifted to ensure more gains and intercepts to be two up in front at the final siren.
The Mulwala A graders know they are still one game away from achieving what they have been working towards since pre-season, and will make sure they throw everything they have at Tongala on Saturday.
Thanks must go to the Mulwala cheer squad over the last few weeks, whose encouragement and support has not gone unnoticed and will be called upon again on Saturday to cheer the girls home!
