Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club A Grade are headed into a Semi Final after a great last round victory against top of the table Rovers United Bruck at W J Findlay Oval in Wangaratta.

A great show of line and length bowling was the key to Yarrawonga Mulwala’s victory in restricting Rovers United Bruck to 135 runs.

After posting 183 on day 1, the YMCC showed they are a finals threat with a 48-run victory.

Corey McIntosh was the pick of the bowlers finishing with 5 for 47 off 18 overs and Jim Irvine took 3 for 26 in a warning sign for opposition batters.

Angus McMillan took 1 for 20 off 17 overs as he played a perfect role in restricting runs and putting the pressure on which resulted in wickets for his fellow bowling cartel.

A 49 run for the fifth wicket was the only resistance to the YMCC as they continued to build pressure through great fielding to complement the bowling to take wickets at regular intervals.

The YMCC also batted for 18 overs to close out the game and finished at 3 for 39.

The semi final will see the third placed Yarrawonga Mulwala take on the second placed Wangaratta Magpies at Norm Minns Oval in Wangaratta next Saturday and Sunday March 18 and 19.
