Presentation night
A magnificent evening was held at the Tungamah Hotel last Saturday night with approximately 80 people in attendance.
The Roast meal had the usual Tungamah Hotel flair, with empty plates on all tables.
It was presentation night first and foremost.
Those recipients absent through unforeseen circumstances were still acknowledged.
Men’s Club Champion: Steve Flanagan, Runner Up: Tim Stapelton.
Ladies Club Champion: Kerry Ralph, Runner Up: Kytrina Savige.
B Grade Championship: Joy Wat, Runner Up: Mick Shean.
Pairs: Joy Watt and Tim Stapleton, Runner Up: Jason Thomson and Mick Shean.
100 UP: Anthony Clota, Runner Up: Kerry Ralph.
A special presentation by Oven’s and Murray Treasurer, Wade McPherson of Super Veteran badges were made to Barry Costigan, Robert (Pinhead) Sidebottom and the late Mick Saunders.
The badge was accepted by wife Doreen. Mick unfortunately passed a couple of months ago and is sorely missed at the club.
Life Membership was awarded to both Diane Sampson and Ian (Crowbar) Britnall.
Both these people have done extraordinary work at the Tungamah Bowls Club for over 20 years. Assisting the club in all positions including: administration, tournaments and catering.
It may have been Crowbar who instigated the esky on the bus for refreshments, something that still happens today. A popular decision and they deserve the accolades.
