Wednesday social bowls
The new format for Wednesday social bowls appears to be building momentum with 24 players shouldering arms last Wednesday and enjoying the day and revised format.
The weather was fine and, given the overall weather conditions last week, this was a welcome bonus.
Games were played on the east green which was running well, considering the rain and overcast conditions experienced over the few days prior.
The winning rink was the team of Neville Coleman (S), and Robyn Forge (L). The losing side consolation prize went to the side of Mick Reilly (S), and Barb Tennyson (L).
The lucky number winners were, capping off a profitable day, Robyn Forge, and Julian Jones.
Just a reminder that the new format for Wednesday social is one game of 22 ends of 3 bowl nominated pairs, with a random draw of winning rinks after the game to decide the prize winners.
Single entries are still welcome as are visitors from surrounding clubs and bowlers who are holidaying in Mulwala / Yarrawonga.
Single entries and visitors please include a telephone number when you place your names on the entry sheets, located at the bowls office.
Friday social bowls
Another strong field of 32 players presented for social bowls last Friday. Games were played across both greens, which were running well.
It was great to see visitors from surrounding clubs, with players from Yarrawonga and Tungamah Bowls Club enjoying the day.
The winners were Greg Green and Andy LeFevre. The winners’ runners up were the visiting team of Peter McKay and Rob Wiekham.
The consolation prize went to the pairing of Robyn Forge and Ray Brown.
The numbers are strong for Friday social, but there is always room for more sides, so remember to enter your names on the Friday social bowls sheets located on the bowls office noticeboards, and single entries are still welcome.
Visitors and single entries please include a telephone number with your names.
Until next week, good bowling.

Marty and several players enjoyed the coaching session offered after social bowls.
