Corowa Social Bowls player numbers have been consistently in the mid-twenties, which is encouraging for our upcoming "Bowls Season".

We have an amazing group of volunteers who keep our "Club" running smoothly while most executive members are on holiday, generally somewhere warm!
The Winter Bowls has been challenging weather wise. Wednesday Social Bowls July 24. Cool and overcast and an icy wind played havoc at times.
Twenty-one players, nine pair's teams and a triples game. Joint winners this week with 2W +14 were Brian Houlihan and Razz, and Susie Swift and Adam Larkins.
Open Jackpot Pairs Saturday July 27. The Jackpot was won this weekend. Twenty-four players, twelve teams of pairs. Winners were Andy Dickins and Roly Nixon, Andy and Roly won $96 each.
The Greens Committee report that both greens are rolling well, and they were sprayed for winter weed last week.
Reminder to members and visitors, all social bowls events are open events, they commence at 1pm, and the dress is Mufti.

Corowa Indoor Carpet Bowls
Sunday morning saw wins for Jan Webber and Gwen Mills in the pairs, Doreen Pleming in the club singles, and Betty Clancy in the minors. The winners of our social bowls in the afternoon, on 16 and 16 (32) were Ellen Buckley, Peter Manning, Merylyn Milthorpe and Anne Smith.
With the runners up on 4 and 16 (20) being Angela Clapton, Jan Webber, Betty Clancy and Joan Adams. Tuesday saw a win for, Jan Webber, Joe Wilson, and Ian Day with 16 and 16 (32). And the runners-up were, Anne Smith, Merylyn Milthorpe and Peter Manning, on 14 and 14 (28). Thursday morning saw a win for Peter Manning and Ellen Buckley in the pairs.
The afternoon social bowls was won by Jan Webber, Kerry Whalley and Merylyn Milthorpe with 16 and 18 (34). The runners-up on 16 and 6 (22) being Peter Manning, Lesley Crough, and Joe Wilson.
Corowa Civic Bowls
Brian McCarthy and his director Ned Young have returned home after a very successful tournament representing Victoria in the Vision Impaired Australian Championship held at Dareton.
Brian won Bronze Medal in the singles, and a Silver Medal in the pairs with Tony Scott and his bowls director Glen Scott. A great result Brian and Ned.
There was a small group of bowlers for last Wednesday Social Bowls with the winners being Paul Hickey John Dalgleish and Jeff Smith.
Saturday was sunny with a cold breeze. Winners were: Mick Dickins Estelle Hollingsworth and Ned Young - Runners Up: Lynne Pyke and Clint Snow.
