Corowa RSL Bowls Club are having a great Winter Social Bowls competition.

Player numbers are increasing each week, we have welcomed several "Division One" category new member bowlers, and we hope they enjoy their new club.
The RSL Bowls Club provide two Social Bowls competitions each week. Both commence at 1pm, and the dress is "Mufti".
All competitions are open events.
Social Bowls Wednesday, July 31
Twenty-six bowlers, two games of ten ends, Triples and Pairs.
Winners with 2W +7 on a countback were Anne Summerill, Maree Jones and Jim Ward (C/B 12).
Runners Up were Jenny Petrie, Jack Hovard and Ketch (C/B 11).
We welcomed back to the RSL greens Jack Hovard, David Marks and Geoff Webster from Oaklands.
Open Jackpot Pairs Saturday, August 3
Twenty-six bowlers, twelve teams of pairs.
The Jackpot, Jackpots at $72 plus the allocation green fee this weekend.
We welcomed new members Klive Liverton, Brian Coulston and returning members Irene Biggs and Ernie King.
Our "Roller Bowlers" program from last season has certainly been a great initiative by the general committee and match committee.
Each week the club has a regular "Social Bowlers" from that program.
It's reported that their skills have improved, and they are wonderful contributing members to the club.
Well done Jenny Petrie, Tim Buggy, Sandy Stewart and Kevin Bowler.
Our volunteers continue to impress. We acknowledge the efforts of Dominic Carroll, Dom sweeps/blows the greens every morning.
Gary Brown and Ketch roll the greens Wednesday and Saturday.
Peter Summerill (chair of greens) reports that both greens are rolling well, and he thanks the mid-week "working bee" volunteers.
The ‘Wrong Bias Bar’ members thank you for your assistance each week.
The next ‘Brunch before Bowls’ will be held on August 21 at 11am, with bowls at 1pm.

A great day was had on Wednesday for Social Bowls, the weather was perfect, lovely sunny day and no wind. A group of 22 members took to the greens.
Winners – Ned Young and Brian Shipcott – Runners up – Lance Davis – Terry Hickey and Marg Watson – 3rd – Paul Hickey – Peter Howell and Estelle Hollingsworth.
There weren’t as many players on the greens for the Saturday Social, quite a few members went to the football to watch their local teams.

The Mixed Pairs Tournament will take place at the club on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 of August, we hope the weather is kind to us.
Our first club event – Mixed Championship Handicap and Mixed Pairs will be on Sunday August 25, commencing at 9.30am – get a partner and place names on the entry sheet in the club house.

Corowa Indoor Carpet Bowls
Tuesday’s winners on 16 and 16 (32) were Peter Manning, Gwen Mills, and Ellen Buckley. With the runners-up on 10 and 17 (27) being Ian Day, Joe Wilson, and Chris Hendry.
And on Thursday afternoon the winners on 18 and 15 (33) were Ian Webber, Joan Adams, Kerry Whalley, and Jan Webber.
The runners-up on 15 and 4 (18) were Angela Clapton, Anne Smith and Glenda Willett.
