Sunday saw wins for Jan Webber in the Championship Singles, and Betty Clancy in the Minors.
Our afternoon social winners on 18 and 4 (22) were Joe Wilson, Glenda Willett, Doreen Pleming and Joan Adams.
With the runners-up on 4 and 16 (20) being Lesley Crough, Joan Catlin, Merylyn Milthorpe, and Anne Smith.
Tuesday August 6
On two wins of 17 and 15 (32) were Joe Carnivale, Kerry Whalley, Gloria McCluskey and Angela Clapton.
With the runners-up on 3 and 18 (21) being Merylyn Milthorpe, Lesley Crough, Betty Clancy, and Gwen Mills.
Thursday August 8 we had a close result with Jan Webber, Lesley Crough, and Anne Smith getting the win on countback and with a score of 15 and 18 (33).
With the team of Peter Manning, Angela Clapton and Chris Hendry having to settle for second on 17 and 16 (33)
Corowa RSL Bowls
Winners of Wednesday Social Bowls were Adam Larkins and Sandy Stewart.
At the 2024 Para Test Series Victoria vs New South Wales, Joshua Thornton was named, Victoria player of the series.
We are having another successful Winter Social Bowls season with player numbers increasing each week.
The upcoming Pennant Bowls season is fast approaching, and our first scheduled Pennant Practice is September 21.
The Barooga Challenge, this is a uniform event.
Social Bowls Wednesday 7
Eighteen players, six Pairs games and two games of Triples.
Winners with 2W +15 were Sandy Stewart and Adam Larkins.
Runners Up, 2W +13 were David Marks and Andy Dickins.
Open Jackpot Saturday August 10
Thirty-three players and the Jackpot of $171 carries over to this weekend.
Guests from Tasmania, Noel Mills, and Peter Browne returned from Queensland.
Peter, a past committee and match committee member (chair of match) and Jack Hovard had his last game before returning home.
Our members were pleased to see Laurie Way and Wally Langton back on the greens.
Corowa congratulates Joshua Thornton, Josh played in the 2024 Para Test Series, Victoria vs New South Wales, and he won Victoria Player of the Series.
Entry forms for the Minor Singles Championship have been posted on the office foyer notice board.
This event is open to all players who have not won a Club Singles Championship.

"Brunch before Bowls", the revised date is August 28 at 11am, bowls starting 11am, dress code is Mufti.
COROWA CIVIC BOWLS CLUB
A good roll-up of bowlers for Wednesday’s Social, the afternoon was slightly overcast, good bowling conditions. Winners – Michelle Shields, Shane Rosenow and Brian Hone. Runners-up – Paul Hickey, Brendan Leach and Brian Shipcott.
Saturday Social was another mild sunny day with 18 bowlers in attendance. Winners – Lance Davis, Ann Climas and Brian McCarthy – Runners-up – Annette Norman, Doug Castles and Marie Lewsey.
This Saturday and Sunday our Mixed Pairs Tournament is being held with a full field of players coming from Victoria and New South Wales. There won’t be any social bowls on Saturday due to the Tournament being played.

Entries are still being taken for the Mixed Championship Handicap Pairs to be held on Sunday August 25, the entry sheet is on the notice board in the club rooms. Entries close on Sunday August 18.
Our first pennant practice match has been organised for Saturday September 7 at 1pm at Civic against Club Mulwala.
