On Saturday our Mixed Pairs Tournament got under way with a field of 30 teams taking part, coming from Bendigo, Torquay, Shepparton, Romsey, Berwick, Burden Park, as well as the locals from Yarrawonga, Wangaratta, Albury Chiltern, Rutherglen, Moira, Moyhu, Cobram. The morning was rather dull, and by lunchtime, the rain had set. We were only able to play one game before having to abandon the afternoon games due to safety concerns for the players. Sunday morning, we were playing in fog, but by mid-morning, the sun came out and it was a lovely day. Three games were played, one being transferred from Saturday.

Social Bowls Wednesday, August 14
The skies cleared and the sun came out for Social Bowls.
Eighteen players and six teams of Triples.
Winners were Ken Widdison Greg Keyte and Jenny Petrie +17
Runners up were Tony Coughlin, Darryl Brown and Anne Smith +5
The Saturday Open Jackpot Pairs was cancelled due to the weather, so this Saturday’s carry-over prize money stands at $171 plus the allocated green fee.
RSA, six members attended the Corowa Tafe RSA Accreditation last week, well-done, volunteers.
The Wrong Bias Bar is in safe hands.
Our First Official Pennant Practice is scheduled for September 21 at Barooga Bowls Club.

The RSL Bowls Club General Meeting and Opening of the bowls season is September 8.
Corowa Indoor Carpet Bowls
Our internal club competitions continue with wins for Tony Coppolino and Joe Carnivale in the Pairs, Ken Pleming with a close one in the Minor Singles, and Betty Clancy in the Club Championship.
Chris Hendry, Ellen Buckley, and Peter Manning were our winners in the afternoon social on 16 and 17 (33).
The runners-up on 17 and 15 (32) were Gloria McCluskey, Doreen Pleming, Glenda Willett, and Jan Webber.
Tuesday’s winners on 18 and 16 (34) were Kerry Whalley, Glenda Willett, and Joe Carnivale. And with two teams on 17 and 4 (21) and both equal on countback sharing runners-up. they were the teams of Chris Hendry, Peter Manning, Ellen Buckle, Joe Wilson, Gwen Mills, and Merylyn Milthorpe.
Thursday saw a winning team of Jan Webber, Joan, and Gwen Mills on 17 and 17 (34). With the runners-up on 16 and 16 (32) being Glenda Willett, Doreen Pleming, and Merylyn Milthorpe.
