Corowa Civic Bowls Club
There was a good turnout of players for Social Bowls on Wednesday.
There were two competitions played triples and pairs. Triple winners – Ian Bilney, Denise Mihan and Jeff Smith. Runners up – Paul Hickey, Jan Wandel-Webber and Brian Shipcott. Pair winners – Frank Hicks and Ken Taylor. Runners up – Lance Davis and Steve Rodway.
On Saturday there were 20 players out on the greens in very cool and windy conditions.
There were both triples and pairs competitions being played. Pairs Winners – Eileen Ide and Maureen Hutson – Runners Up – Denise Mihan and Jan Wandel-Webber. Triples Winners – Frank Hicks, Sue Dawson and Col Hendren – Runners Up – Graeme McIntosh, Shane Rosenow and Genise McFarlane.
During the past few weeks, more rounds of the Mixed Pairs Handicap Consistency have been played.
Jude Willett and Ian Bilney defeated Estelle Hollingsworth and Brian Shipcott.
Marie Lewsey and Paul Hickey defeated Denise Mihan and Ray Ager.
On Sunday morning another game was played, with Marie Lewsey and Paul Hickey defeating Margaret Watson and Lynton Ford.
The Men’s and Ladies Club Pairs will take place on Sunday, September 22 commencing at 9.30am.

The Club Singles is set for Sunday, October 20. The entry sheet is on the notice board.
A pennant practice will take place at Chiltern on Saturday, September 21. If you are available, add your name to the sheet in the Club Room.
A group of bowlers from the Geelong regions will come for a mid-week pennant practice on Tuesday, September 24. If you are available to play, place your name on the sheet in the club rooms.
Wednesday social on the following day, September 25, has been cancelled.

Sunday morning saw a win for Glenda Willett by 17/16 in the Minor Singles final. And a win for Joe Carnivale in the Championship Singles semis.
The afternoon social winners on 17 and 16 (33) were, Jan Webber and Betty Clancy.
The runners-up on countback were Kerry Whalley, Chris Hendry, and Gwen Mills.
On Tuesday the winners on 17 and 16 (33) were Betty Clancy, Helen Bartel, and Joe Carnivale, with the runners-up on 15 and 17 (32) being Jan Webber and Peter Manning.
Thursday’s winners on 16 and 20 (36) were Joe Wilson, Jan Webber, and Ellen Buckley. The runners-up on 17 and 14 (31) were Helen Bartel, Gus Sander, and Betty Clancy.
