There were 24 entries with teams from Rutherglen, Yarrawonga, Milawa, YMGCR, North Albury, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Club Corowa, Yackandandah, Chiltern, Myrtleford, Commercial Club and Corowa Civic.
Winners were a composite team of Mary Paton, Trish Tobin and Liz Saunders with 3 wins + 31. Runners Up was another Composite team of Jan Hermassoo, Sue Middleton and Maree Jones with 3 wins + 22. Third was a team from Myrtleford of Cheryl Lewis, Kath Wood and Jannine Powell with 3 wins + 14. Best last game was D Peacock, H Stokes and P Lappin from Chiltern.

Wednesday Social was played on a sunny cloudless day, with 18 players taking part.
Winners were – Peter Howell, Frank Hicks and John Dalgleish. Runners up were – Ray Ager, Jan Wandel-Webber and Ken Taylor.
On Saturday we journeyed to Chiltern for a Pennant practice. Thank you to the Chiltern Bowling Club for having us. A good afternoon of bowls was played.
The final of the Mixed Pairs H/C Consistency will be played on Thursday at 1pm between Jude Willett and Ian Bilney against Marie Lewsey and Paul Hickey.
The first round of the Men’s and Ladies Pairs have taken place during the week.
Peter Howell and Steve Rodway defeated Ian Lewis and Clint Snow, Guy Rowe and Bob Ronnfeldt defeated Ian Bilney and Brendan Leach, John Dalgleish and Don Norman defeated Lynton Ford and Shane Rosenow, and Frank Martin and Travis McDonald defeated Paul Hickey and Ray Ager.
In the Ladies – Marie Lewsey and Maureen Hutson defeated Jan Wandel-Webber and Estelle Hollingsworth, and Maree Lewis and Denise Mihan defeated Sue Dawson and Annette Norman. In the following weeks Genise McFarlane and Eileen Ide will play Marie Lewsey and Maureen Hutson, and Lynne Pyke and Margaret Watson will play Maree Lewis and Denise Mihan.
There will be no social bowls on Wednesday, September 25; instead, a game against Geelong will be played on Tuesday, September 24.
Corowa Indoor Carpet Bowls
Tuesday’s social winners on 18 and 18 (36 were Kerry Whalley, Merylyn Milthorpe, Anne Smith, and Joe Wilson. Runners-up on 15 and 17 (32) being Gus Sander, Gloria McCluskey, and Chris Hendry.
And on Thursday afternoon the winners on 17 and 17 (34) were Peter Manning, Ken Pleming and Joe Wilson. And runners-up on 17 and 15 (34) were Jan Webber, Angela Clapton, and Dawn Sander.

The bowls season has been open for one week, and already, our bowling weeks are busy again!

Cobram Barooga Bowls Challenge, September 21
Forty-four bowlers travelled to Barooga for the Challenge.
Congratulations to Barooga on retaining the shield, scores 144/138.
Geelong Goodwill Match
Corowa RSL Bowls hosted the Geelong Goodwill Match on Monday, September 23.
The format was BBQ and bowls. Thanks, Keith Mills, for organising this event.
This week September 27, there is another official Intraclub Pennant Practice match.
The BBQ commences at 5pm followed by bowls.
